Dwayne Nurse has been the Procurement Associate for UNDP in Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean since July 2018. He has gained a wealth of organisational knowledge, particularly in the area of procurement, during his 4-year assignment (2014 to 2018) as the Programme Associate for Energy and Environment and while assisting the then Procurement Focal Point for the Multi-Country Office.
Before joining the UNDP, Mr. Nurse held the position of Economist in the Agricultural Planning Unit in the Ministry of Agriculture of Barbados. During that posting, he took part in training and gained knowledge in the areas of food security, green financing, project management and international trade.
Mr. Nurse possesses his bachelor’s degree in Economics and Accounting from the University of West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. He has also achieved the level 2 certification in the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply and continues his training in operations and procurement.
