Ms. Danielle Evanson

Ms. Danielle Evanson was appointed Programme Manager for the Climate Change and Disaster Risk Resilience portfolio in December 2014, then also for Energy and the Environment in April 2015. She leads this cluster, whose team is spread across 6 countries, with the major themes of the portfolio focusing on climate change adaptation, renewable energy, biodiversity conservation, and disaster preparedness and mitigation. She is also the UNDP-lead for the Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE) in Barbados, part of UNDP’s global team of crisis responders and a member of the UNESCO IOC ICG/CARIBE EWS Group of Experts on Costal Hazards.

Before this assignment, Ms. Evanson served in various posts within the UNDP Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean office since May 2007, including Programme Analyst for Energy and the Environment and Project Officer for the Regional Risk reduction Initiative. She also briefly taught Environmental Science, and was a partner in a private environmental consulting firm.

She holds a MSc Natural Resource and Environmental Management (distinction) from the University of the West Indies and a BSc Environmental Science (Hons) from the University of Southampton. She is a wife and mother of two daughters, an avid sportswoman, musician and environmentalist.
