The Low Carbon Development Path (LCDP) Project recently conducted site assessments for sites being considered for inclusion for solar PV installations. The sites included a health facility, two primary schools, two secondary schools, and the newly erected emergency operations center in the Commonwealth of Dominica.

The team conducting the assessments consisted of Mr. Stuart Bannister, Technical Officer for the Disaster Risk and Energy Access Management (DREAM) Project in Barbados, Mr. Vaughn Royer, Electrical Officer of the Electrical Division, and the LCDP Project Coordinator, Ms. Kimisha Thomas. At the end of these assessments, the project will be well placed to develop tender documents that would aid on-the-ground installations of solar PV systems with battery storage.

The Low Carbon Development Path Project aims to remove some of the policy, knowledge and financial barriers that hinder the uptake of renewable energy technology in Dominica.
