UNDP and the UN in the RegionOur corporate context defines the work of UNDP Barbados and the OECS as a component of UN's global development network, which advocates for change and connects countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life. UNDP Barbados and the OECS is a part of the 166-country office UNDP network, working with countries to assist the implementation of their own solutions to global and national development challenges. As they develop local capacity, they draw on the tools, skills and expertise of UNDP and our wide range of partners. United Nations System consists of the United Nations programmes, funds and specialized agencies and United Nations Secretariat. United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is one of the programmes in the United Nations family of organizations. In addition to UNDP, the following UN System specialized agencies, programmes and funds are based in Barbados UN House. These are:
The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) is also a resident agency in Barbados, but is located outsite of UN House. Non-resident agencies and funds which form part of the United Nations family in Barbados and the OECS are:
