PACES Project Conducts Hybrid Electric Vehicle Safety Training for Emergency Responders and Energy Stakeholders

Eleven (11) individuals participated in a two-day safety training that sought to demonstrate and instruct the various best practice steps and measures adopted when responding to accidents involving Electric and Hybrid Vehicles as well as their ancillary renewable energy technology (RET) components. The training was facilitated by JARIC St. Vincent Limited and took place at their Conference facilities in Arnos Vale.

During the intense two-day training participants gathered a wealth of knowledge on the different ways of identifying an EVs and HEVs, ways to disarm them as well as the safest approach to removing victims from the scene of an accident.

Promoting Access to Clean Energy Services in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (PACES) continues to build capacity amongst individuals in the energy sector. These initiatives are all geared toward the promotion of future energy investments as well as building the knowledge and capacity of local private individuals and public agencies. Among the participants list were individuals from the; Fire Service Department, Police Department, Energy Unit, VINLEC, BRAGSA and the Ministry of Health.
